Media Relations Account Manager

The role:

Archie Group is seeking an ambitious, collaborative, and self-motivated media relations manager. This is a 1099 contract and hybrid work (remote and onsite) position with the potential for W2 employment with benefits.

You will be working with the client leadership team to confidently drive accounts’ media relations strategy and execution, build plans and lead your teams and clients to success. You know the right media to pitch as well as when to involve other channels and approaches to reach your client’s objectives. You follow industry trends, you are an exceptional writer (short and long form content) and eager to take on more responsibility around integrated PR campaign planning and execution.

 Responsibilities

  • Running day to day media relations execution (strategy experience preferred but not essential).

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with media across technology/innovation, vertical, business and broadcast media.

  • Understanding and regularly keeping abreast of the changing media landscape.

  • Identifying and creating story angles/pitches – following key industry trends, competitors.

  • Drafting compelling long and short form content (i.e. press releases, blogs, social media copy).

  • Managing or co-managing day-to-day activities including client communication and internal operational needs.

  • Acting as the primary support for Client Leaders to drive strategy and execution.

  • Team with Associates to execute strategy and media directives.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team – working collaboratively with internal teams, and as an extension of clients’ teams.

 Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience either at an agency or in house (agency preferred; experience in B2B tech or fintech preferred).

  • Strong writing and storytelling skills.

  • Fast learner and persistent regardless of challenge of task at hand.

  • Deep understanding of earned media and how reporters like to receive information.

  • Flexible, must have ability to prioritize and reprioritize tasks and take initiative.

  • Be able to balance a blend of media relations, client relations and team management.
